CardX
In development for iOS, Android & Google TV

Your phone is your hand. The TV is the table.

CardX turns the phones already in the room into private hands and the TV into the shared table. Poker night, family game night, and party games, with no cards to lose and no peeking.

How a game night works

Everyone uses the phone already in their pocket. Nobody has to sign up for anything.

  1. Host a room

One phone taps Host. CardX gives the room a four-letter code and a QR code.

  2. Everyone joins

Friends scan the QR code or type the code. No accounts, no sign-up.

  3. The TV becomes the table

An iPhone host sends the table to the TV over AirPlay. Or run the CardX TV app on Google TV or Android TV.

  4. Play on your Wi-Fi

Once everyone is in, the game runs directly between the devices in the room.

Two screens, every game

What only you should see stays on your phone. What everyone should see goes on the TV. All games are original, generic versions of the classics.

Free Play: anything you can do at a real table

Before any rules, there's the table. Free Play gives you cards, chips, and dice with no rules enforced, so you can play whatever your family plays, house rules and all.

  • Deal, shuffle, cut, draw, and pass cards
  • Flip cards face up, or keep them face down and secret
  • Chips and dice on the same table as the cards
  • Mix several decks in one game

Built for the room you're in

CardX is designed around one idea: a game night where the phones do the hiding and the TV does the showing.

No peeking, by design

Other phones never learn what a face-down card is, only that a card is there. Every shuffle mixes those markers too, so no one can follow a card around.

Play stays in the room

A small linking service introduces the devices. After that, the game runs directly between phones on your Wi-Fi.

Drop out, jump back in

If a phone locks or loses Wi-Fi, it takes its seat back when it returns, hand and all.

Bring your own decks

Import card packs with your own art. Players who don't have a deck get it from the host automatically, checked byte for byte.

No accounts

Join with a four-letter code. There's nothing to sign up for and no profile to fill in.

Any TV in the house

AirPlay from an iPhone, or the CardX TV app on Google TV and Android TV. The table looks the same either way.

Where CardX is today

CardX is being built one capability at a time. Each new game reuses everything the earlier ones proved.
